The Executive Vice President, Global Trade Bank (Afreximbank), Haytham El Maayergi, made this declaration during the audience granted to him by the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey, at his Cabinet, on February 14, 2024.

Mr Haytham El Maayergi explained to the press that the objective of their visit was to update the Minister of the Economy on their discussions with the Banking sector and how the bank is putting in effort to support them on the different trade finance. He equally said they discussed on digital media technology which is helping countries exchange goods and services.

The Executive Vice President, Global Trade Bank, Afreximbank equally added that Afreximbank is trying to support trade within Africa as this action is very critical for them. He equally said that the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, gave them the priority areas and what they need to focus on as well as, how they can best support countries like Cameroon; to this Mr. Haytham El Maayergi affirmed as he explained, that, Cameroon is a key country to the Afreximbank.
